Privacy & terms
What information we keep, why, and who can see it.
Mental health information is among the most sensitive information there is. So Shotta collects only what is necessary and publishes nothing without your consent.
Key terms
- You must be 18 or older to use the services. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian should contact us.
- Shotta connects clients with verified professionals; it is not an emergency medical service. If a life is in immediate danger, call 999.
- News about Shotta’s new services, workshops and special days may be sent by SMS or email; these messages never mention your problem or sessions, and you can stop them at any time.
- Professionals will not enter any personal or financial relationship with clients, will not contact clients privately outside the platform, and will work within their training.
- Messages inside Shotta are seen by the two people in the conversation. For client safety (for example, suicide risk), to check a complaint or for legal reasons, Shotta’s admin, and the office manager if the admin allows it, can read messages; who read them and when is always recorded. Messages are deleted automatically after about 18 months.
Cancellation and refunds
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the session for a full refund or a free new time.
- No refund for cancellations less than 24 hours before, or for missed sessions.
- If the professional cancels, or a session fails for technical reasons, you get a full refund or a free new time.
- Admission preparation course: full refund if cancelled before the first paid test.
- Refunds go back through the same payment method within 7 working days.
Information we collect
- Form information: name or pseudonym, mobile number, district, and whatever you write to us.
- Professional applications: educational and professional details, documents and references. Documents are stored privately and used only for verification.
- Session information: booking date, time, mode and payment.
- Self-tests: answers are calculated on your device; they never reach us.
- Website statistics: how many people viewed which page, without identifying anyone.
Who can see what
- Information from forms is seen only by Shotta’s authorised team, to provide the service.
- Session notes can be seen only by the professional concerned.
- Your name is not shown with reviews.
- Shotta never sells your information or gives it to other organisations.
Limits of confidentiality
If someone’s life is in immediate danger, or if required by law, the minimum necessary information may be shared with the relevant authority or emergency service. Your professional will explain these limits in the first session.
Your rights
- To see and correct your information
- To ask for your information to be deleted
- To stop SMS or email at any time
Data security
All information travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to sensitive information is restricted.
